NCSY Camp Sports Vol. 4
Dear Parents,

Last shabbos was unbelievable, with tons of singing and dancing at the meals and davening.  On Friday night we had an oneg with camp alumni Rabbi Ilan Segelman  and Rabbi Mordechai Pretzky.  We also had delectable food at the oneg, including egg rolls and sesame chicken, all sponsored by Landers College.  We had a relaxing shabbos day with learning, games, and time to rest.  On shabbos afternoon we had our traditional famous Rita’s ices, great shiurim and a maningful “As Shabbos ebbs away” with Rabbi Dani Cooper.  Saturday night bowling and pizza was awesome as usual.

Sunday morning started with interactive small learning sessions with all of the campers and members of the upper staff.  Campers were able to ask any questions they had, and we spent time addressing each question.  On Sunday night we had our free throw basketball contest to benefit Chai Liefline.

.

Monday was another one of our amazing trips with tons of stops.  We started in Washington, DC, where the boys could choose to go to the Air and Space Museum or Holocaust Museum.  After the weather cooled down a little bit and our museum visits were done, we went to Hayne’s Point on the Potomac River for a BBQ.  The trip ended with a late-night trampoline park called Skyzone in Columbia, MD. Tuesday morning started with our daily learning groups and leagues. After we showered and changed from a hot day of sports the advisors put on a skit which as enjoyed by everyone. The skit ended with some very funny “challenge games”. You can see some great pictures on the website.

After learning groups on Wednesday, we had a special opportunity to buy seforim from Shabsi’s Judaica, the Judaica store here.  We are thankful to Landers College for sponsoring this event, and allowing every NCSYer to buy a new sefer of their choice.   We the headed ut to Hagerstown, MD to watch a minor league baseball gam. Before the game we stopped at a park and made a siyum on Seder Moed of Mishna. Every NCSYer completed a portion of Seder Moed, it was a great demonsstration of the power we can all come together to accomplish while learning this summer.  We then went to the game and watched NCSYer Ben Mizrachi throw out the first pitch of the game, followed by a Suns win.

Thursday was a classic day with learning groups and some of our last league games. The day ended witha four way tie for second place. I hope it all gets sorted out today. At night we finished our 3 on 3 basketball and free throw contests. Mishmar was full of spirit and raffles and culminated with ice cream sundaes.

Today we will have learning and league games, and spent the day getting ready for Shabbos and Tish B’Av.

We are looking forward to a great shabbos, as well as a meaningful Tisha B’Av.

We hope to Webcast our very meaingful Tisha B’Av Kinnos program on Sunday morning at 10:00am.  We will send a link later today.
